Motorola MC55 Enterprise Digital Assistant (EDA)
Technology giant Motorola has recently unveiled its latest consumer device that features advanced mobile technologies that will meet the needs of business travelers or anyone who needs a reliable digital assistant device.

The Motorola MC55 enterprise digital assistant (EDA) offers features comparable to mobile computers. With powerful microprocessor called XScale PXA270, various business applications can be used by people to maximize their work productivity. The microprocessor has also been integrated with Windows Mobile 6.1 that enhances the security feature, improves Internet browsing, supports faster Wi-Fi connection, and provides instant messaging-like messages.
Another notable feature is the durable design that allows the digital assistant to work even in extreme environments. Meanwhile, Motorola has also designed the MC55 with a special casing that protects the internal parts even the gadget is dropped up to 4 feet.
For those web-centric consumers, the digital assistant will be highly ideal for them as it provides 802.11a/b/g wireless LAN connectivity for fast Internet performance. The device also supports Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) which allows people to call other users without paying for a service fee.
Because of the convenience of wireless connectivity, Motorola has specifically designed the MC55 to support cable-free connections to digital printers, modems, headsets, and other electronic devices. Other wireless connections are: Bluetooth Technology for faster digital transfer and Wi-Fi Internet connection.
Just like most “intelligent” devices out in the market today, the MC55 also has built-in 2-megapixel camera. Though it has low-resolution quality “(compared to camera phones which have more than 8-megapixel feature), the built-in camera can at least support 1D and 2D bar code scanning capability that effectively reduces data errors.
This pocket-sized mobile assistant also has 3.5-inch QVGA display which has been designed to support high definition images that allows users to look at the screen even in bright lights.
Other features are: QWERTY keyboard, microSD card slot, 128MB RAM/256MB ROM, built-in microphone, and speakerphone.
